PREGNANCY MEDITATION

This is a meditation for Moms to be. I am a Dad and I understand how important the bond is between that of a Mother and her newborn baby. I want you to understand that a good diet is very important, but it is extremely important during this time to listen to your body!

Tired? Thirsty? Hungry? Angry? Are thoughts racing in your mind? Worried?

When you find yourself feeling this way, rest, eat, drink, and find some quiet

time to be with your baby!

“A baby fills a place in your heart that you never knew was empty.”

You have heard people say to listen to your body?

What exactly does that mean?

Meditation can help you listen to your voice, your body, and to that small heartbeat — and help you feel refreshed, more focused, and more connected with your baby!

What exactly is meditation? The easiest way to describe it is that meditation is quiet time to focus on your, breathe and connect with your thoughts. It is not entirely about silencing the mind but finding order in your thoughts! As you relax and as thoughts flash across your mind’s eye, focus on organizing them. Imagine a large cubby in front of you, different pockets to place all of these racing thoughts. Bills, Hunger, Relationships, Hunger, Work, Morning sickness, Hunger, Your weight, Doctor appointments, Hunger, and most importantly THE BABY!

So to a degree there is some clearing of the mind but more like decluttering and placing thoughts into order of importance. WHY? So once you see the priorities of what you can and can’t take care of, things begin to no longer drive you crazy and stress you out. This is not a time to worry, stress, and feel that you need to take on the weight of the world!

This little soul inside feels all of your thoughts and emotions!

“Of all the rights of women, the greatest is to be a mother.”

How, Where, and When can I start?

Well, it is never too late to Meditate, a few days, weeks, months or even after the pregnancy! You can find a class where meditation is shared, watch guided meditations, or listen to meditation music videos on YOUTUBE or click on the link below!

For some, it can be as simple as deep, in-and-out breaths in the bathroom, in bed, on the couch, at work, or in the car (pull over of course) You do not have to meditate for an hour or more. A few minutes here and there is fine. Simply focus on you, and the baby!

It is all about finding inner peace, letting go of what is truly not important, and getting in touch with your breath and feeling the baby. Making that bond! The bond of a Mother is magical! Connect with your baby! Let them know that you are filled with love and that you are there for them. They will feel your energy.

“Words can not express the joy of new life.”

What are the benefits of Pregnancy Meditation?

  • Some of the benefits of practicing meditation include:

  • better sleep

  • connecting with your changing body

  • anxiety/stress relief

  • peace of mind

  • less tension

  • positive labor preparation

  • lower risk of postpartum depression

“A new baby is like the beginning of all things – wonder, hope, a dream of possibilities.”

Doctors and scientists have studied the many benefits of meditation on pregnant women and these studies have shown that can help moms-to-be throughout pregnancy and especially at birth.

Moms who have high levels of stress or anxiety during their pregnancy are more likely to deliver their babies at preterm or lower birth weights.

Prenatal stress can also impact fetal development. Studies have shown that it can even affect cognitive, emotional, and physical development in infancy and childhood. All the more reason to make time as often as possible to sit, breathe, relax, and connect with your baby.
